my summer ‘22 goals & plans
hey beaut,
it has been so long since I’ve been able to sit down and write, but finally I can feel myself getting back into the groove! This past semester has been one of the most challenging but also most rewarding few months of my entire life. The grind has been nonstop, however, I’ve found that I’ve been pushed to the greatest capacity I’ve ever experienced in my entire life… something that makes me feel like I must be in the right place ;). That being said, I am finally able to come home for the entirety of the summer and have been able to enjoy time with my family and friends in my most favorite place: Minnesota.
it is finally summer and I cannot wait to share with you all the plans that I have for the next couple of months! But first, I wanted to talk about some of the goals I’ve set for myself so that each one of you can hold me accountable ;). This summer, I really want to achieve the day to day routines that keep me healthy in all aspects: physically, emotionally and mentally. This means I need to push myself to exercise more frequently, journal and study the Bible daily, practice healthy relationships and friendships, in addition to prioritizing the health and wellness of my mindset. I am human, I have periods of my life where I lose track of the importance of these things and this is definitely a time in my life where I have done so. But, this summer I am hoping to find a new sense of wellness! My other goals for the summer of ‘22 include an increase in traveling, planning for the second half of my collegiate career and putting in my best effort to promote and grow the platform of this blog. Setting goals mentally and visually is extremely important for us as humans as we strive to be the best version of ourselves. I have not always been the best at setting goals and holding myself accountable, but I have experienced the feeling of achieving said goals and how great of an impact it can make on my life. For me, the best way to make sure these goals are accomplished includes a visual checklist, or even an app on my phone (seriously, there is a plethora of goal setting apps that are lifesavers!) These checklists allow my mind to see what progress has been made, in addition to what still needs to be done. Another extremely important factor in setting goals has to do with another individual such as a friend or a family member holding me accountable to these goals I have chosen to prioritize. Accountability is key when it comes to individual growth in goal setting. I know I wouldn’t be able to accomplish any of my goals without the support and consistent check-ins from my closest friends and family. Goals are fun and the best way for us to improve our short term or long term expectations for ourselves :).
‘22 is going to be a summer to remember. So far, I have been spending three days a week with the sweetest little four month old. He has been so much fun to spend my days with and I cannot wait to continue enjoying the summer with him. Checkout this Tiktok I made as a little day in life as a nanny :). In the next week, I’ll be picking up a few shifts at Urban Escape, the boutique in my hometown that truly inspired me to study fashion. It is such a great environment to be in and the group of girls constantly push one another to accomplish their dreams in all aspects; an environment I thrive in! In about a week and a half, I will be on a flight to Milan, Italy with one of my close friends… crazy, right?! We have been planning this summer trip since December of last year and I could not be more excited to explore the country. The trip itinerary includes several day stops in Florence, Rome and within the Amalfi Coast. I cannot wait to see all of these beautiful places that we have planned to visit! It is going to be the trip of a lifetime… and of course, the outfits are already planned don’t worry ;). During the second week of July, I am going to be attending a national conference for Alpha Chi Omega in Seattle, Washington. I have never been to the city, but I am so excited to see what it is all about and to represent my chapter. The rest of the month of July is dedicated to accomplishing many of the goals I mentioned before, but most importantly, spending time with family and enjoying the slower moments. Oftentimes, I’m so used to the fast pace, constant high pressure grind that pushes me to go 24/7. To be honest, I often think I’m addicted to this type of lifestyle, but it is so important to remember to slow down and to enjoy the little moments in front of us. Come the first week of August, I’ll be back to Columbia to start the recruitment process as President of my chapter! I am so excited to step into this role within the process of recruitment and to see where the future semester takes me.
yes. It is a busy summer in such a short amount of time, but I am so excited to see what the future has in store. No matter what plans you have for the upcoming summer, remember to cherish the moments you do have in front of you. The little experiences and moments matter; the ones that define where we came from and who we will be in the future. I can’t wait to share more about my future trips with you guys and I promise… more content to come soon.
xoxo,
