New Years weekend getaway in Naples.

hey beaut,

This is officially my first wanderlust blog post and I couldn’t be more excited to share my travel journeys with you all! I hope you all had an amazing New Year holiday and spent it with the people you love the most. I was lucky enough to be able to do just that this year :)

A couple of my best friends (Kara and Reegan) and I decided to go on a spontaneous trip to Naples, FL, to a condo owned by Reegan’s family. The condo is located in a beautiful part of the city and looks over the water. We arrived super early on New Year’s Eve morning and decided to go to the pool for the remainder of the day. Later that evening, we headed over to the beach for a fireworks show and lantern lighting. This was probably one of my favorite moments to spend with my best friends and will definitely be one that I cherish forever! We spent the rest of the vacation at the beach, admiring the views, laughing UNCONTROLLABLY, and eating probably some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. To say we had an amazing time… would be a bit of an understatement.

Naples is probably one of the most beautiful cities I have seen in Florida. With intricate downtown decorations, gorgeous palm trees, amazing weather, friendly neighborhoods and amazing restaurants, this place was the perfect weekend getaway for the girls and I. We dined at a few different restaurants with countless options in addition to grabbing a couple meals by the pool at The Dunes club. One of my all time favorite meals was a strawberry avocado salad (it was SO delicious). We also dined at restaurants by the names of Tacos and Tequila, Cosmos and Bricktops. All of the restaurants were amazing and I would definitely recommend them to any of you who might consider a trip to Naples. The city has an immaculate downtown area; one with an infinite amount of boutiques, shops, restaurants, bars and perfect photo-ops. It was the perfect place for going out on the night of New Years Eve, as so many people flooded the streets with sparkly dresses, suits and champagne. The other thing I loved about the downtown area was how well lit it was in the evening. The decorations were incredible, from lights surrounding the trunks of palm trees to completely decked out entrances to the restaurants. The city had such an inviting touch to it; something that made the trip so much more impeccable. I included some fun photos from the trip on this post so ya’ll can take a look.

When I really began looking into the start of my blog, I knew right away I wanted to include travel aspects. I’ve been incredibly lucky to be able to travel to some of the most amazing places the last nineteen years of my life and I hope to continue that going forward. However, I think the main reason I wanted to include my travel experiences is because of the importance it holds in my life now and is going to hold in my life in the future. I can’t wait to look back on these entries and relive the moments of traveling with my best friends and family. Travel is so much more than telling everybody about where you went, what you ate, what you bought, and the money that was spent. It’s about the memories that were made, the parts of the world that were seen, cultures that were embraced and the impact it's going to make on one’s life for years to come. Even though this vacay to Naples was a short weekend trip, I was so incredibly lucky to be invited on a vacation with some of the most important people in my life. I will cherish these memories with them forever and I cannot wait until we get to make more. The one thing I want you all to get out of this entry is to truly embrace every single moment you have in this life. Go into this next year with this mindset and I think you might be surprised at how much it will benefit you :).

xoxo,

CG
